Bebras: Mini-Challenge for Secondary Level

The Bebras® Computing Challenge introduces computational thinking to students, by allowing them to solve interactive tasks online. It is run in over 45 countries and takes place every November.

The tasks can be answered without prior knowledge about computational thinking or information and communication technology. The aim of Bebras is to get students all over the world excited about computing.

Why not try the Bebras Mini Challenge as to see what it’s all about!

Every November Bebras stages its international Computer Challenge to motivate students to problem-solve based on informatics concepts such as algorithms and programs, sequential and concurrent paths, data structures, state modeling, and data flow.

In 2018 over 2,600,000 students from 47 countries participated in the Bebras Computer Challenge. In 2015 Bebras won the Informatics Europe Best Practices in Education Award.

As an introduction, the organisation provides the Bebras Mini-Challenge which enables students to solve a sample Informatics-based task and compete against time. The online contest is open to all ages of learners.

6,851 students took part in the 1st round of the Irish Bebras Competition on the 5th to 16th November 2018. The Bebras Final will be held on the 11th of May 2019 at Maynooth University, as part of Tech Week. To find our more check out the Bebras Ireland website
