Tech Week 2016 is all over, and it has been another fantastic year for Ireland’s festival of technology. Our sincerest thanks go out to all of the thousands students, parents, teachers and members of the general public who participated throughout the week. The Tech Week team worked hard on this one, and we think it paid off. Tens of thousands students participated. Technology enthusiast’s organised events all across Ireland including career talks, workshops, lectures, coding activities and much more.
But that’s the thing: it’s easy because Tech Week was epic. We went into Tech Week with high expectations after last year. 42,000 people took part in Tech Week 2014 in schools around the country, in events like gaming/coding hybrid Scratch and Tech and Go Seek.

Ten teams battled it out in the University of Limerick despite the adverse weather condition to qualify for a place in the National Final of F1 in Schools Technology Challenge which takes place in Dublin Castle as part of Tech Week on 29th April. The F1 in Schools Technology Challenge is powered in Ireland by the Irish Computer Society, and supported by SFI Discover.
