We are delighted to announce that the 2017 Bebras National Finals will take place on Saturday, April 22nd in the Eolas Building, NUI Maynooth, as part of the Bebras Computing Challenge. The Challenge is run in November each year around the world in over 30 countries. It introduces the concepts of computational thinking to students and lets students see the practical applications of modern computing.

The competition is divided into five age categories from 8-10 years to 16-18 years old, with over 100 students from each age category in attendance. The Finals are an island-wide event, with competitors from both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Each participant in the competition will get 45 minutes to answer 16 multiple-choice questions that focus on computational and logical thinking. There will be award winners in each category as well as an award for the overall highest score.
