Tech Week is Ireland’s festival dedicated to celebrating tech careers, the rewarding opportunities in the sector, advances in technology, and digital skills. During the week hundreds of events will take place online that promote the sector to young people and their key influencers. Annually coordinated by the Irish Computer Society and supported by Amazon Web Services and Science Foundation Ireland, the celebration will take place from April 28 – March 03.
The Irish Computer Society are championing Green Tech, on Friday April 03.

Green Tech or technology is an umbrella term that describes the use of technology and science to create products that are environmentally friendly. The goal of Green Tech is to protect the environment and in some cases, repair damage done in the past.
Examples of Green Tech include technology used to recycle waste, purify water, create clean energy, and conserve natural resources.
According to the IDA, Ireland is currently pursuing a strategy focused on becoming a major investment hub for Clean Technology. Abundant natural resources, high-level skills, a thriving research and development environment, and supportive government policies are all contributing to the growing success in this sector.
Under the umbrella of Green are Wind, Solar and Ocean energy.
It is important to promote the rewarding opportunities a career in Green Tech can provide.
