  • Tech for Good Dublin - VR for Social Impact

    Event Type: Lecture

Tech for Good / TechForGood Dublin is a group that brings together people who are enthusiastic about using technology for positive impact. We believe that digital technology is a powerful tool that can be harnessed to tackle social and environmental challenges and bring about change. We invite you to join our group and get ideas and inspiration from guest speakers, take part in discussions and to meet others with similar interests. Our events encourage conversations between those who want to address a social problem and those keen to share ideas about digital solutions. Events are free and open to all. We welcome techies and non-techies, non-profit sector worker and volunteers, activists, campaigners, social entrepreneurs and everyone enthusiastic about TechForGood. About this event: Guest presenters: Sabina Bonnici & Camille Donegan, Creative Producers and VR Evangelists, Silver Branch. In some organisations, creatives and technologists are only starting to get to grips with the potential of Virtual Reality, while others, like the United Nations are embracing it with gusto. In this talk, Sabina Bonnici and Camille Donegan from VR studio Silver Branch, discuss how immersive technology. like VR, is being used to share stories, create impact, and change minds. There will also be an opportunity for TechforGood attendees to try out VR examples on Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear headsets.
